Enschede’s new Integrated Transport Interchange, designed in collaboration with IAA Architecten's Dutch office, was designed to create a new civic identity for the Municipality of Enschede, whilst providing a transport facility of simple functionality.

The two-phase project consisted of a new bus station, a new public square and the total restoration of the existing train station.
The design is based on the most logical routes between buses and trains, taking into account a wide range of additional activities – waiting, meeting, seeking information, waving off friends – while creating a new public space as an exciting entrance to the city. The design allows easy orientation, and makes extensive use of information technology and digital display.
